About me

MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

To combine the treasures of the past, with the usability of the present, and the practicality of the future, good interior design allows one to live with all of this.  I believe that eclectic styling works well.  Interior design comes alive when you add vintage and antique artifacts to the project; timeless things with history give a home character.  I am obsessed with unique and exotic things.  When I travel throughout Europe and the rest of the world, I notice and take pictures of the unusual beautiful designs and little details that other people don’t notice.  By mixing rough and delicate textiles, chains with velour, or shabby-chic wood with glass, I emphasize the accents and contrasts of an interior. I love to mix different lighting scenarios to brighten up a house and decorate it with shadows.  Everything comes together to create spaces that are both inviting and exciting.

I love creating comfortable, livable, and beautiful homes with unique personality and character, which I would live in myself.  The satisfaction of my clients gives me joy and increases my creativity.

MY CREATIVE BEGINNINGS

When I was 3 years old and I went to art school for the first time.  My first 2 paintings won first place, since then I have always had a huge interest in art and design.  I have had a good imagination that has helped me become a successful interior designer.  Almost all of my best ideas come to me in my dreams.

From an early age my mom and I fantasized about how we would remodel our house.  For example we always wanted to put a sink facing the window in the kitchen or a big walk-in closet. Since that time, I have had a strong will to become an architect.  However, receiving an architect’s education was very expansive and my family could not afford it.  Therefore, I got a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, but my dream for becoming an architect didn’t leave me for a minute.  After, graduation in 2006 I moved to Moscow, Russia to pursue this desire.  I got my second degree in interior design, which in Russia includes certificates for architectural design.  Afterwards, I moved back home and remodeled my family’s home the way my mom and I dreamed, applying the knowledge I gained during my studies.

My independent career as a designer launched when I co-founded a custom furniture business, which included the bespoke styling of my client’s homes and businesses.  Following on that experience, I owned a custom drapery business growing into a full service interior designer.  After falling in love and moving to California, I am continuing work in interior design, incorporating my passion for sustainable design, vintage and antique furniture restoration, and the reimagining of space to include a continuity between the past, the present, and the future of living.
